Norma Jean Herritt

Norma Jean Herritt, 84, passed away on April 19, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Middlebranch, Ohio on November 15, 1936 to the late Dominic and Rose (Test) Capuano. After graduating from Canton Beauty School on May 26, 1968 she opened her own shop called Norrie’s Coiffure. She was a loving and supported wife and mother. She was a member of St Timothy’s Episcopal Church. Norma loved hummingbirds and traveling. Her favorite trip was with her husband through the western states to California in June of 1992. She also enjoyed cooking Italian meals for family gatherings. She is survived by her children, Paul (Karen Torch) Melnichenko, Jeff (Trish) Melnichenko, and Richard (Christine) Herritt, Jr. Grandchildren, Rachel (Mike) Mickley, Lyndsie Melnichenko, Lance (Amy) Melnichenko, Richard Herritt III, Nickolas Herritt, Kali Herritt (Vernard) Hall, Savanna Wagner and Brianna Wagner; great-grandchildren Camden, Ellia, and Auria Mickley. One sister, Connie Lawson; special nieces, Linda (Larry) Bardwell and Pam Simpson; brother- In- law, Karl Garrod; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Herritt, whom she married in July of 1978; and brothers and sisters, Ralph Capuano, Gertrude Capuano, Ray Capp, Anthony Capuano, Eugene Capuano, Betty Stewart, Mary Lou Garrod, and Eileen Lyons. She will be dearly missed by her sons and family. Friends and family may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 10 am - 11 am with Memorial Services to be held at 11am, Fr. George Baum, officiating. Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required. If you are not feeling well, or if you have a compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
