Norma I. (Stranger) Jamison

Norma I. (Stranger) Jamison age 84 of Massillon, passed away Saturday evening at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. She was born on August 9, 1924 in Massillon to the late Louis and Margaret (Jardine) Stranger. Norma was a 1944 Washington High School graduate. She retired from Ecko Houseware in 1989 following 46 years of service. Norma traveled most of her life. Some of her favorite places to visit has been to Ireland and Disney. She especially enjoyed traveling to Vegas where she had her picture taken with an Elvis Impersonator along with obtaining his autograph. Norma was an Elvis Fan. In addition to traveling she enjoyed BINGO, word puzzles and Massillon Football. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jamison who passed away in September 1974, brother Charles Stranger; sisters, Louise Reynolds, Margaret Wilding, Emma Griffiths and Gertrude Venables and a step son Junius “J.C.” Jamison. She is survived by her son, Charles L. Jamison of Massillon; daughters, Joyce and Paula Jamison both of Massillon; step son, Hollis (Elsie) Jamison of Massillon; brother, Delmer (Georgeanne) Stranger of Massillon; grandchildren, Tammy (Dave) Bavery, Tina Jamison and Carl Gatewood; great grandchildren, Kayla, David and Jeremy Bavery and numerous nieces and newphews. Funeral services celebrating Norma’s life will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Arnold – Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Wilbur officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the services at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
