Nora Rebecca Cowart, 53, of Massillon, passed away March 13, 2023. She was born in Massillon on July 22, 1969, to William and Rebecca (Parish) Buttermore. She was a 1988 graduate of Washington High School.
Nora was truly a one-of-a-kind person with a beautiful soul and outgoing personality. She radiated happiness and positivity which is why she was so well-loved and liked by all she knew.
She was also strong-willed and a little stubborn but never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. She always had a way of seeing the good in people no matter what.
Nora was also a very spiritual person who was extremely devoted to her Lord and God. She fully gave herself to God when she traveled to Israel and was baptized in the Dead Sea.
Not only was Nora devoted to her religion, but she was very dedicated to her family. Nora was a loving wife, a caring mother, and a very proud grandmother to her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
When her children were younger, they all took many family camping and canoeing trips which then became a tradition for her grandchildren as well. The memories they made on these trips together will always be kept close to their hearts.
Nora will be deeply missed by her son William Cowart and daughter, Cheyenne Cowart; father William Buttermore; her grandchildren, Faithynia Keenan and Iris Cowart; and her sisters Jeanine (Ettore Scassa) Burch and Paula Buttermore.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 23 years, Spud Cowart, her mother, Rebecca (Parish) Buttermore, and her daughters Faith Cowart and Rathynia Buttermore.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20th from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m.
