Nora Elizabeth Shipley

Nora Elizabeth Shipley, age 96 of Massillon, Ohio, passed away in her home on June 2, 2021. Nora was born on August 8, 1924 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Sarah (Rittenower) Grimm. She was a hard working homemaker who kept a spotless home that she built with her own hands alongside her husband. She was a mother to many, many children other than her own, constantly put others needs before hers, and never turned her back on anyone. Nora was a God fearing Christian woman and a member of Massillon Baptist Temple. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening, planting flowers, cooking, painting, and playing bingo. Nora was a humanitarian, giving to many charities including St. Jude. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Shipley, daughter, Janet LaFaber, grandson, Russell Saunier III, and eight siblings. Nora is survived by her children, Marvin Shipley Sr., and Donna Saunier, grandchildren, David LaFaber, Christine LaFaber, Marvin (Lara) Shipley Jr., Lori Shipley, Delda Shipley, Nikki Kindelberger, and Adam Saunier, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family may come to call on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or the charity of your choice.
