Noah A. Thompson age 76 of Jackson Twp. passed away Monday January 10, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born June 14, 1934 in Monongahela, PA to the late Noah & LcMae (Parkins) Thompson. He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Architecture. Noah was a member of the Army Reserves from 1957 till 1963. As a registered architect he was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber in Akron, retiring in 1991. After retirement he continued working with several local firms. He was a member of McDonaldsville St. Paul United Methodist Church, proud to be an Eagle Scout and stayed active in scouting until retirement. Noah was a talented trumpet player, a member of The Penn State Blue Band, and a member of several area brass bands. He was a local artist known for his watercolor landscapes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary ‘Polly’ (Dickinson) Thompson of the residence; two daughters, Tracey (Timothy) Webb of Fairlawn and April Merritt of Massillon. He has five grandchildren: Lily, Joel, Katie, Ryan and Riley and a sister Jean Thompson of Bethel Park, PA. A Memorial Service for Mr. Thompson will be 11 AM Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. His final resting place will be Newman Creek Cemetery.
