Nellie Rohr

Nellie Rohr, 81 of Massillon, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Nellie was born on December 1, 1932 in Canton, the daughter of the late Harvey and Sada (Acrouch) Karam. Nellie was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from McKinley High School. She worked at Uniontown Topsoil and Mulch as a secretary. Nellie did volunteer income taxes for the Massillon Senior Center. She was a member of the Massillon Recreation Center where she enjoyed 'Silver Sneakers', and The Son's and Daughter's of Herman. Nellie enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Karam and her sisters, Dorothy Mikstay and Joanne Wacker. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gary L. (Mary) Rohr, Daniel J. (Selena) Rohr, Kenneth A. (Pam) Rohr, Chuck I. (Kathy) Rohr, Jerry T. (Lori) Rohr, Terry J. (Susan) Rohr, and Lori A. (Mike) Ramsey; her brother, Edmond (Norma) Karam; 26 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and her companion Lynn Henning. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home - Massillon. Pastor Robert Groenke will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
