Ned E. Pizzino

Ned E. Pizzino, age 92, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008. He was born November 20, 1915, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony and Mary (Lapresto) Pizzino, and was raised in Massillon. He attended Massillon schools and was the first Mascot for Paul Brown. Most of his adult life was spent in Gary, Indiana, where he was employed by Kaiser Aluminum. In 1981, Ned returned to Massillon to retire with his family. His love of the Tigers began with Paul Brown and continued all through his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister: Josephine Embid, Bernard Pizzino, Phil Pizzino, John Pizzino and Anthony Pizzino. He will be sadly missed by his four sisters: Anne Schoppe, of Navarre, Margaret Bozarth, Alma Boerner and Gloria Cicchinelli, of Massillon, and one sister-in-law, Hazel Pizzino of Massillon; a step-daughter, Ronda Case, of Montana, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate.
