Ned A. West, age 86, of Massillon passed away Tuesday evening. Ned was born in Parkersburg, WV on March 2, 1921 to the late Oscar and Helen (Potter) West. After Ned graduated from Belpre High School, he entered the Army where he served our country in World War II. Ned was a POW for two and half years where he was held captive in Germany. After returning from the War, Ned married Beth Dulaney, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage until her passing. Ned went to work for Ecko as a Maintenance Supervisor where he retired after 40 years. Ned was an avid outdoorsman, loved to travel, he was also a pilot and a member of the Navarre VFW and the American Ex-Prisoners of War in North Central Ohio Chapter #8. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beth West; his son, Ned Allen West; two brothers, Wilbur and Gerald; two sisters, Bertha and Wanda. Survived by daughter, Debi of Massillon, with whom he resided; two sisters Thelma and Gene George of Belpre, Ohio, Lucy and Glenn Everson of Reno, Ohio. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and his many grand animals. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
