Nathan L. Laster

May 12, 1940 — June 23, 2022

Nathan L. Laster, 82, a lifelong resident of Massillon, Ohio passed away on June 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 12, 1940, to the late Nathan Laster and Vonzeal (Jack) Knight. Nathan was employed at Timken Steel Company as a castor operator. He retired from after 30+ years of service. His greatest achievement in life was his family. Nathan was a dedicated family man, who could also be described as the “best dressed big man”, always outdoing everyone in attire at special events. His devotion to his family and friends was one of his greatest qualities. The best gift Nathan gave to his family was the time they spent together. His generosity was another quality that he shared. He was always willing to help those in need, whether they were friends, family, or strangers. He was also a proud 1958 graduate of Washington High School and an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Nathaniel T. (fiancé, Erica Miller) Laster, Shevawn (Michael) Smith, Nicole (Orlando) Dawson and nephew CJ (Lisa) Harris, Jr., who he loved as his own; former spouse Anne Laster; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy. In addition to his parents, Nate was preceded in death by his brother, CJ Harris, Sr. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 13th from 4-6 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
