Naomi R. Cottrell

Naomi R. Cottrell, 91, of Massillon, passed away on September 7, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic / Mercy Hospital.

She was born on August 5, 1933 to the late John and Minnie (Wortman) Campton in Cambridge, OH.

She was a graduate of Washington High School , Class of 1951 and was the former Treasurer at Tuslaw Local School District and The Maplewood Joint Vocational School. Naomi was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Gideon's International Auxiliary for thirty three years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Naomi is survived by her son, David (Ellie) Evans; daughter-in-law, Vicki Evans;

step-children, Thomas (Kathie) Cottrell, Joseph Cottrell, and Susan (Jerry) Bailey; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Evans; husbands, Gordon Evans whom passed in 1973 and Philip Cottrell, whom passed in 2014; siblings, Lucille L. Potts, Shirley L. Corban, James Campton, Richard Campton, Robert Campton, and Marie Welker ; and step-daughter, Debra J. Cottrell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a funeral service to start at 11:00 am with, Minister Matthew Ellington, officiating.

Interment will follow at Newman Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the The ALS Association of Northern Ohio.
