Nancy L. Stone

Nancy Stone was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many. She left this world suddenly on March 17, 2021. She was born in Marietta on November 11, 1947, to the late Betty and Elroy “Shine” Short. She was a graduate of West Muskingum High School class of 1965. Nancy was a bus driver for Massillon City Schools for 14 years. She enjoyed watering her flowers, being outdoors, trips to Amish Country, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Angela Leitner, brother Joseph, and nephew Shawn. Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Darrell “Stoney” Stone; children Stacy Ann Huff, Stephanie (Kevin) Holbrook, Amy Jo (Anthony) Volpe, Nicole (Nick) Nowatzki, Mark (Danielle) Stamets, Matthew (Tanya) Stamets, Jessica Gurnicke, Zachary (Kaylee Murphy) Ingram; sister Judy (Larry) Bryan, brother Thomas Short and Jill Llyod; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Pete Leitner; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, with Fr. Gretchko officiating. Visitation will be from 11-noon prior to the service on Tuesday. Final resting place will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
