Nancy Jane (Welch) Hammel, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on July 03, 2016. She was born to the late Jerome and Clara (Malcuit)Welch on May 16, 1930. She attended Mt. Marie Academy and worked in her family bakery before marrying the love of her life, William Hammel on June 25, 1949. Nancy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a beautiful pianist and played mostly by ear. She found great joy in rearranging her furniture; and just when you got accustomed to the new arrangement, she'd move it again! She was also famous for her humor and one-liners. Nancy is survived by her children: daughter Nancy (Jim) Lytle of Massillon and five sons, William (Christine) of Jacksonville, FL, Bruce (Cindy) of Trinity, FL, Gerald (Amy) of Navarre, Jack (Kathleen) of Santa Rosa CA, and Jimmy of Massillon. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; her brother Jerry (Donna) Welch and sisters Patricia Wise, Susie (George) Berbari and Jeannie Hodgson all of Massillon. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 66 ½ years William, on December 04, 2015. Also preceded in death are sisters Mary Louise Krempel, Betty Morgan, Peggy David, Katie Orzak , Rosie Berbari, Judy Mattingly and infant grandson Chad David Lytle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 08, 2016 at 10am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church . Father Edward Gretchko of St. Mary's Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Clements Cemetery in Navarre.
