Nancy Jane Pelger

Nancy Jane Pelger, 77, of Jackson Township, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Nancy was born in Canton, Ohio on December 18, 1944, to the late Ervin and Ruth Bower. Nancy retired from Nelson Industrial Supply after 23 years of service and formerly worked at Ohio Power and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. She was an excellent cook and loved making homemade jelly. People called her the 'Jelly Lady'. She would host all holiday family meals. She liked ceramics, crafts, and sewing. She and her husband Gary were active members of the Massillon Area Car Club. Nancy loved gardening and spending time on her front porch. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Canton. She is survived by her husband of 55 years of marriage, Gary Pelger; daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Jennings; granddaughter, Lillian Jennings; brother, John (Carol) Bower; and sister-in-law, Melinda (Mark) Changet. A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church: 425 Cleveland Avenue SW, Canton, OH 44702. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
