Nancy Blocher

Nancy L. Blocher, age 61, of Jackson Twp. passed away Thursday August 13, 2009 at Aultman Hospital Palliative Care Unit surrounded by her family. She was born September 15, 1947 in Massillon the daughter of Grant and Ruth (McCarty) Bowers. Nancy was employed by Stark County Job and Family Services where she provided transportation and supervision for foster children visitation. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and the Willowdale Lake Women’s Club. Nancy was an active volunteer and supporter of Special Olympics. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed shopping. Nancy is survived by her husband Robert Blocher whom she married April 5, 1990. Also surviving are children Jennifer (Michael) Coleman of Perry Twp. and Ronald Oana of the home; step-daughter Jennifer Lones of Massillon; mother Ruth Bowers of Massillon; sister Anita (Jerry) Terwilliger; beloved granddaughters Alyssa and Lauren Coleman; niece Denise (Danny) Rambo of Massillon; great niece Olivia Rambo. She was preceded in death by her father Grant Bowers. Visitation will be Sunday August 16th from 6-8 P.M. at Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with additional visitation there from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Rev. Herbert Garnes III will officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Gardens followed by a luncheon at Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Aultman Hospital or her grandchildren’s educational fund.
