Nan R. Madanski, 60 of Coventry Township, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 14, 1949 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Vernon and Dona (Fenstermaker) Bowers. Nan was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. She then began her 36 year career with Ohio Bell, retiring with AT&T as an assistant manager. She had been active with Portage Lakes youth sports programs, she volunteered at Akron Children’s Hospital and was a member of the Dragon Dream Team, a breast cancer survivor’s boat racing team. Nan attended The Chapel in Akron and participated in the Adult Bible Fellowship. She is survived by her husband, Gregory A. Madanski, whom she married on September 23, 1989, her daughters, Bryce (Benjamin) Weber and Sarah “Sadie” Emery, her stepchildren, Darrin (Nikki) Madanski, Dana (Derek) Toth and Brian Madanski, her grandchildren, Coral Toth and Clara and Owen Weber and her siblings, David (Jacquie) Bowers, Susan Bowers-Miller, Steven (Debbie) Bowers and Roberta Cowan. A service to celebrate the life of Nan Madanski will take place on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Alber officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. and on Friday at the church one hour before the service. The family suggests memorial’s be made in the name of Nan Madanski to Visiting Nurses Hospice Service in Fairlawn, Ohio.
