Myrna L. Loar, 97, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Alter Care of Navarre, following a brief illness. Myrna was born December 6, 1914 in Geneva, to the late Leslie and Helen E. (Powers) Hall. She graduated from Deleware High School in 1933. She worked as a nurse's aid on the maternity floor of the former Massillon City Hospital. Upon retirement she and her husband traveled out west, did some camping and wintered in Florida where she enjoyed collecting seashells. She was an avid reader, worked crossword puzzles, played many different card games, dominos, bingo, enjoyed crocheting and knitting. But her greatest joy was in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: six children; Wilbur D. Loar, Jr, Delores J. Earle both of Massillon, Robert B. Loar of Orlando , FL, Roger W. (Judi) Loar of Massillon, Thomas O. Loar of Dellroy and Roy H. (Lisa) Loar of South Amherst, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one, great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband of 66 years, Wilbur Dean Loar, Sr., son-in-law, Robert K. Earle, Sr. and two sisters; Dorothy Hall and Margaret Moore. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Alter Care of Navarre, with a special thanks to Stacy, Sara and the wonderful nurses on the 200 floor. Thanks also to Mercy Hospice Staff and the volunteers. They are exceptional. Memorial contributions may be made in Myrna's name to the Mercy Hospice of Mercy Medical Center. A private graveside service in Brookfield Cemetery will be held at a later date.
