Myrna C. Goldsberry, 78, passed away on December 19, 2016, following a courageous twenty-one year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on July 6, 1938 to the late Ernest E. and Mabel (Skinner) Weatherbee. Myrna graduated from Washington HS, received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ohio State University, taught in the Worthington Public School System, moved into educational publishing, and eventually to the Children's Department at the North Canton Public Library. She was a volunteer for the Canton Symphony Orchestra and helped with children's concerts. She is survived by her children, Jodie (Jim) Mackie of Bath and Curt (Ellen) Goldsberry of Hooksett, N.H.; four grandchildren, Jamie, Scott, Nathan and Jacob; two brothers, Harold (Eleanor) Weatherbee and Barry Weatherbee; sister-in-law, Janie (Dan) McGartland; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer H. Goldsberry in 1983. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. A private service will be observed on Wednesday. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Garden.
