Montina “Tena” Liossis-Bendure, 81 of Massillon passed away Thursday evening at Affinity Medical Center. She was born in Massillon February 5, 1927 to the late Nicholas and Mary (Alexander) Liossis. Tena was owner- operator of Tena’s Dog Grooming, and in earlier years owned and operated the “Bee- Hive” Restaurant. Tena’s greatest love was singing in the church choir at St. George Greek Orthodox Church where she was a lifelong member and also loved dancing at church functions. She performed in the annual Messiah Concert at Washington High School for many years. She was an ardent animal lover and rescued many dogs and cats through the years. She won many awards in regional and national dog show’s. Tena will be remembered for her gift to bring happiness to others, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sister Katharine Elefterin of Massillon; nephew Dr. Greggory (Kris) Elefterin of Canton; great nephew Michael Elefterin of Massillon; great nieces Ariane and Zoe Elefterin of Canton. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John W. Bendure January 29, 2006. Calling hours will be Monday from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M. followed by funeral services at 2:30 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE. Father Costas Valantasis will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Massillon.
