Minnie Sarae

Minnie R. Sarae, age 102, of Massillon passed away Tuesday May 11, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 1, 1908 in McKees Rock, PA the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Marie (DePasquale) Sarai. Minnie was an inspector at Superior Switchboard from 1954 to 1997. She was also employed as a cook at Fiori’s Restaurant and together with her husband Andrew operated Betza Motors on Lincoln Way in Massillon for many years. Minnie enjoyed crocheting, and gardening. Minnie is survived by her niece Amelia (Gennett) Miller of Aurora; nephews Charles, Joseph and Gordon Carter all of McKeesport, PA, and Morgan Carter of St. Augustine, FL. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Betza, brothers Charles and William Sarai, and sisters Elizabeth Carter, and Florence Gennett. Visitation will be Saturday May 15th from Noon to 1:00 P.M. followed by funeral services at 1:00 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon. Father Raymond Paul will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Minnie’s memory may be given to Central Catholic High School Tuition Assistance.
