Mildred (Wendy) Little, 96, of Massillon, passed away on December 28, 2024, at Danbury of Massillon surrounded by family.
She was born on June 15, 1928, to James and Mildred (Pearce) Winfield in Gainesville, FL.
She was a 50-year parishioner of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, where she formerly served on the Vestry Board. She was a member of the Stark County Republican Women, DAR, and the Massillon Museum, where she was a past board member. She was an active member of Phi Beta Kappa for over 75 years.
She received her Masters of Library Science from Florida State, worked as a librarian at Central Catholic, then went to night school so she could learn computer programing. Her favorite job was as a team leader at the Census, where she led a department known for their efficiency and collaboration.
She happily traveled the world with her family, her husband, and by herself, and visited over 100 countries.
Mildred is survived by her loving children John (Heather) Little, Chip (Shirley) Little, Becky (Najib Taybi) Little, and grandchildren Ethan, Carmine, Pearce, Lorelei, and May.
She was preceded in death by her parents James A. and Mildred L. (Pearce) Winfield, and her husband Charles E. Little.
A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Massillon on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 6pm, Fr. George Baum, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
