Mildred R Samsa

Mildred R. Samsa, 94, a lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away in her sleep Monday evening, April 30, 2018, in the Amherst Meadows. She was born in Massillon on September 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Andy and Nellie (Elavasky) Yacko, Sr. Also preceded in death by her husband Tony Samsa; her two sisters Ann Suite and Nellie Flickinger; and her brother Andy Yacko, Jr. Mildred worked various jobs until her marriage to Tony on January 4, 1947. After marriage she became the “neighborhood” mom to all the kids her son grew up with. She was always kind and giving to all. Mildred leaves behind her son Robert (Laura) Samsa; grandchildren Suzanne (Mike) Dilts, Anthony (Hannah) Samsa, and Chuck (Amanda) Samsa; four great-grandchildren Olivia and Bryce Dilts, Aubrey Jo and Cora Elizabeth Samsa. The family wishes to thank Lorriane Bushmire, Wendy Nader, Jeannette McNut, Ann Radich and Julie Halco for all the care and time they spent with Mildred and Tony. But the biggest Thank You goes to all the management and staff at the Amherst Meadows. God Bless you all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society. Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday, May 7, 2018, in the Paquelet Funeral Home with Rev. Matako officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday.
