Mildred R. Hathaway

Mildred 'Millie' R. Hathaway age 81 of Massillon passed away Tuesday September 13, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. Millie was born August 27, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Walter & Madelyn Pilacki and moved to Massillon in 1956. Millie's goal was to be a 'good Wife & Mother' and raise her five boys with Christian Values. Millie and Jerry followed their boys in their activities and sporting events passionately, delighting in watching all the games together. She expected a winner. Millie was extremely proud of her Polish heritage too. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Joel in 2002, a sister Cecelia Kruszeniak and brother Chester Pilacki. Millie is survived by her 'Best Friend' and love of her life, Jerome 'Jerry' Hathaway with whom she shared 58 years of marriage on June 13th. They have four sons and daughters in law, Jerome & Mary Hathaway of Massillon, Jeffrey & Victoria Hathaway of Canton, Jonathan & Margaret Hathaway of Thousand Oaks, CA and Jason & Ellen Hathaway of Hartville; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Maier, Stacey (Michael) Dentler, Ashley Hathaway, Jerome Hathaway, Jeff Hathaway, Alexander Hathaway, Ian Hathaway, McKenna Hathaway and Morgan Hathaway; three great grandchildren, Cassidy, Michael and Tatum; two surviving sisters, Florence Stolarski & Theresa Gruszewski both of Cleveland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon, her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Her final resting place will be St. Joseph Cemetery.
