Mildred Millie L. Getz

Mildred “Millie” L. Getz, age 99 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on June 20, 1910 in Dalton the daughter of the late Evertt and Mary Theresa Simon. Millie was a lifelong resident of Massillon. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Getz in 1992, her sister, Dorothy Schrock and her brothers Paul and Sam Simon. She is survived by her son, Ron (Judy) Getz of Alliance; her daughter Layne Getz of Massillon,; her grandson, Jamie (Lori) Getz of Canal Fulton; her great-grandchildren, Shannon and Tyler Getz; her great-great-grandsons, Dylan and Mason; her sisters, Blanche Roehlig of Massillon, Audrey Gaddis of Worthington and Joyce Yoder of Orrville. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Mark Oster will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
