Mildred L. Rummins

Mildred L. Rummins, age 100 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2009. She had been a resident of the Laurels of Massillon for the past six years. She was born on February 22, 1909 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Coron and Chloe (Packer) Kahler. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Massillon resident. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple and actively served in the ministry of the Jolly 60’s and as pianist in the children’s department. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester E. Rummins, her brothers, Russell and Lorin Kahler and her sister Helen Lacy. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert L. and Shirley Rummins of Medina, Ohio and Donna J. and Dale Oberly of East Canton, Ohio, her grandchildren, Eric L. (Marilyn) Rummins, Lori L. (Daniel) Fancher, Mark D. (Sheri) Oberly, Lynette (Michael) Varverakis, Paula (Ellie) Heustess and 15 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mildred Rummins will take place on Friday, December 11th at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE in Massillon. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday one hour before the service.
