Mildred H. Carpenter, 89 of Massillon, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was born in Massillon on October 1, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Clarence P. and Emma J. (Malzahn) Heather. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945 and worked at the former Neisner's 5 & 10, the A.& P. and with her husband Elmer at the Trading Post. She was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple where she was a bible study teacher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer E. Carpenter in 2013 and her brother Melvin Heather. She is survived by her children, Kevin A. Carpenter, Kim Ann Karam and Keith A. Carpenter, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Wanda Zorger and her "adopted son" Darrin Stock. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery beside her husband. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 A.M.
