Midloskia H. Fite, Sr. age 80, of Massillon, OH, passed away at his home march 6, 2021. He was born August 15, 1940 in Canton, OH to the late William and Estella (Henderson) Fite. He was a 1958 graduate of McKinley High School, Canton, OH. After graduation he served in The United states Army in Korea. He was employed by The Timken Company, Superior brand Meats, Radio Station WBXT “ Soul Of The City”, and a gospel program “Gospel Of The City” and then later retiring from Detroit Diesel in 2003. Middy never met a stranger. A man of faith who served faithfully at Friendship Baptist Church in Massillon, OH. He was a deacon, trustee, Chairman and all around handyman until his health began to fail. He was a family man who enjoyed cookouts and making his special ribs He loved life and lived it well. He enjoyed golf, an avid bowler, he loved most sports and sports trivia. Middy was a good mathematician. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Marissa B. Fite; three brothers, Ron, Rudy and James Fite; a sister, Willie M. Howard. Middy is survived by his wife, Gerry (Oliver) Fite, who was the love of his life for almost 57 years; three sons, Vernell Jones of Louisville, KY, Midloskia H. Fite II and Marcus A.(Alma) Fite; a daughter, Diane Walker of Canton, OH; five grandchildren, Kenyad Blair, Keenan Blair, Marcus Fite II, Maraijha Hogan Fite and Key’Aira Williams Fite; great grandchildren, Keenan Blair, Jr. and Kenseley Blair; three brothers, Bashir Hassan of Cleveland, OH, Kwame Etif of Atlanta, GA and Roger (Mary) Fite of Massillon, OH; sister, Mildred Brown of Canton, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him; special brother-in-law , whom he loved like a brother, Kenny Oliver; and special friends Gary Garrison and Deacon Bobby Stafford. A special Thank You to his care givers Susan the R.N. Joyce, Mike and Joe. You are all the best thanks for all the love and care. God sent me an Angel called “Peanut” my niece , Charlene, who made sure that her uncle and family had the care that was needed. Thank you for all the prayers. Friends may call at the Friendship Baptist Church, Massillon on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 10am-11am with a Home Going Celebration to be held at 11am by Rev. Reginald Hye. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required. If you are not feeling well, or if you have a compromised immune system, you are encouraged to stay home.
