Michael W. Smith

Michael W. Smith, age 60 of Perry Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was born on March 7, 1956 in Massillon and was the son of the late John P. Smith, Sr. and Priscilla (Baker) Smith. Mike graduated from Washington High School in 1974 and served with the Army National Guard. He worked in retail management. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church where he has served as administrative assistant, facilities manager and board member. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Cavallaro) Smith, whom he married on July 11, 1992, his son Chad (Teresa) Smith, his daughter, Tiffany (Adam) Rupert, grandchildren, Zachary, Kaydence, Logan, Ethan and Amelia, his brother John P. Smith, Jr., sister Irene (Bob) Skaggs, twin sister Marsha K. (Dennis) Rowley, his nephew "son" Clint (Samantha) McIntyre and his niece Lyndsey Smith. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God with Pastor Jeremy McGraw officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church one hour before the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made in memory of Michael W. Smith to the American Heart Association.
