Michael Scott Shaffer

Michael Scott Shaffer, 54 of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 12, 2019. Michael was born on November 12, 1964 in Massillon, the son of Norma Jean (Nolan) Ridenbaugh and John Nelson Shaffer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1983 graduate of McKinley High School. Michael owned and operated Canton Massotherapy. He graduated from Oaks Massage School in Massillon. He was also a Reiki Master Teacher, and a Bringer of Light. Michael was a spiritual drummer circle leader. He was also a fire walker. He was preceded in death by his father, John Nelson Shaffer and his brother, David Keith Shaffer. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy (Austin) Shaffer; step daughter, Eva – Leigh (Sean) Houghton; brother, Kenneth Shaffer; grandsons, Allen and Edward (Emily) Houghton; great granddaughters, Baila and Ariya; and his drum brother, Jimmie Bowman.
