Michael R. Parsons, Sr., 74, of Massillon, passed away March 17, 2023. He was born in Welch, West Virginia on November 28, 1948, to the late Edward and Helen Parsons.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He then worked as crane operator for the former Alcoa aluminum company and retired after 31 years of service.
Mike was known for his strong work ethic, and he was driven by his desire to provide and care for those around him, especially his family. He also had a sense of humor and endless one liner jokes that could sure make you smile or laugh.
Even though he worked tirelessly, Mike made sure to find time to take yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with his family and never missed an opportunity to travel to Cincinnati with his boys to cheer on the Bengals.
Above all, his devotion as a beloved husband, father and grandfather was something he was very proud of, and his legacy of love and wisdom will be carried on by those that knew him most.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Doris (Daily) Parsons; children Tina Starcher, Ron (Tammy) Bachman and Michael R. Parsons, Jr.; his twin sister Michelle (Vern) Miller and brother Edward (Linda) Parsons; as well as many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24th from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
