Michael P. Long

Michael P. Long, 78, of Canton, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 11, 2022. He was born on September 6, 1943 to the late Michael and Dorothy (Swisher) Long in Massillon. Michael was a graduate of Washington High School and The University of Cincinnati and owned his own electrical design engineering company. He was a Past President and life member of the North Canton Jaycees. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon and a former member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Neil) Long; daughter, Lynette M. Long; and sister, Julie Border. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David M. Long; and his first wife, Mary Kay(Loudiana) Long. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 10:30am, by The Very Rev. Canon Matthew Mankowski. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Stark County Wilderness Center and Stark County Pet Food Pantry..
