Michael J. Sabol

Michael J. Sabol, 87 of Jackson Township, passed away on November 22, 2018 four days after the passing of his wife Geraldine “Gerry” Sabol. Mike was born on April 19, 1931 in Donora, PA and was the son of the late John and Anna (Psenicnak) Sabolcik. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, he went on to a career at J.C. Penney where he retired as the Canton Centre store manager. Mike was a longtime member of the Perry Rotary Club where he served as president in 1984. He then went on to serve as District Governor in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gerry and his brothers, Rudolph Sable and Joseph Sabolcik. He is survived by his sons, David (Margaret) Sabol, Robert (Monika) Sabol and Steven (Crystal) Sabol their eight grandchildren and his brother John Sabolcik. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place for Mike and Gerry on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife.
