Michael E. Peak (Mike/Eli), age 56 of Peoria, Arizona, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Mike was born March 19, 1958 in Massillon, Ohio to parents, William Jasper Peak, Sr. and Margaret H. (Peak/Chappell) Dampier. He was selected to attend Hoosac School in New York and returned to Massillon to graduate from Washington High School in 1976. He received several awards for his academics. Mike graduated from Akron University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology; furthered his education at Ohio State University and was enrolled at the College of Medicine. Mike was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was active in the Youth Group, and Trinity Gospel Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfathers William (Bubble) Chappell and Arguster Dampier, Sr.; maternal and paternal Grandparents. He is survived by sisters and brother-in-law, Lolita James, Blanche Jones, Yolanda (Gregory) Mance and Angela Chappell; brothers William Peak, Jr. (Bill) and Myron Peak; stepbrothers and stepsisters of the Dampier family; aunts Vivian Canty of Akron, OH, Marrianna Peak of Newark, NJ and Frances (Delores) Grimes of Cleveland, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Legacy Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley in Peoria for their care.
