Michael Daddy Nick Nickels

Michael L. “Daddy Nick” Nickels, age 61 of Massillon, died on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on November 10, 1947 in Massillon and was the son of Leona (Felton) Nickels and the late James Nickels. He was a lifelong area resident. Nick was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a supervisor at Indian River for 23 years. He then worked at Bell Stores the past 5 years, retiring this year. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 12. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca A. (Norman) Nickels, whom he married on August 28, 1987, his daughters, Jackie Garretson of Massillon and Jessica Garretson (Nickels) of the home, his grandson Dylan Garretson of Massillon, his mother Leona Nickels of Massillon, his sisters, Sandy McKinney of Michigan and Pam Kane of Vermillion and his brothers Pat Nickels and Jeffrey Nickels both of Massillon.
