Michael E. Bryant

Michael E. Bryant, 67, of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Michael was born on November 18, 1957 in Connersville, IN, the son of the late William and Mary Bryant.

Mike grew up in Indiana. He then joined the United States Army where he was deployed to Vietnam. Mike came to Ohio in the late 1970's. He worked at the Massillon Boys and Girls Club, where he enjoyed working with the youth. He was well known for his love of sports, especially baseball. In his earlier years he played AAA baseball for the Cincinnati Reds. On March 3, 1986 he married who would become the love of his life, Valerie Green, and they shared 38 years of marriage. What Mike enjoyed most of all was gardening, canning, and spending time with his grandchildren, and friends. He was a wonderful man with many talents, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Valerie J. Bryant; daughter, Keisha (Shawn) Schering; daughter, Heather (Scottie) Clark; son, Aaron (Samantha) Jones; grandchildren, Cody Schering, Triston Clark, Conner Clark, Kennedy Jones, Corbin Jones, Bentley Jones ,and Gracyn Jones; and great-grandson, Wyatt Michael Schering.

There will be a Celebration of Mike's life on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mike's name to: Calvary Baptist Church: 11616 Sinclair Street SW, Massillon, OH 44647.
