Merle Lee McConaughead

Merle Lee McConaughead, 68, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Merle was born on December 2, 1956 in Massillon, the son of the late Edward and Louise (Murray) McConaughead.

Merle graduated from Washington High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1977-1980. He retired from Nickels Bakery after 29 years of service. Merle loved all kinds of music. He also enjoyed sports, especially softball. 

He is survived by his daughters, Toccara McConaughead, and Telia C. McConaughead; grandson, J'Aunte D. Streeter; brothers, Jerome McConaughead, and Kenny McConaughead; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward McConaughead, Brenda McConaughead, and Florence Young.
