Merle Latham, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 following a brief illness. She was born on July 25, 1921 in Massillon to the late Joseph Simon Sr. and Hilda (Huth) Simon. Merle had lived with and was cared for by her late brother, Joseph and his wife Lillian Simon. After they passed away, Merle was cared for by her niece, Patricia Kovacsiss and her nephew, Wayne Simon. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. She retired from Heinz Food in 1992. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Latham and her siblings, Joseph P. and Lillian Simon, Jr., Pete Simon, Raymond and Inez Simon and Margaret and Steve Jurkovich. She was the aunt of: Patricia Kovacsiss Wayne & Marlyn Simon, Ashley Simon Cathy & Todd Beckett, Caitlin Beckett Mark Kovacsiss Bobby & Tami Kovacsiss, Lea, Keri & Jami Kovacsiss Amber & Joey Warstler, Jackson & Hayden Warstler Brian & Kaylee Beckett, Raelyn & Owen & Bryson Beckett Frank Simon Raymond & Linda Simon Georgia Sullivan Deloris & Bill Specogna, Margie & Donna Nancy Jurkovich, Brian, Kelsey, Brandon, Sarah, Rachel & Corey Step mother of: Tom & Kay Latham Raymond Lathan and family Step Grand Mother of: Lisa (Alen), Chris (Teresa) Kara (Tom) Bob & Geneva Latham and family Step Great Grandmother of: Kyle Helm, Dana & Randy Kibler Abbey & Dan Icenhour, Josh & Matt Latham, Merle was an aunt who made the joy of a family complete. Family and friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 7:00pm-9:00pm and on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 8:30am-9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Brian Cline and Fr. Thomas Cebula at 10:00am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church.
