Merle A. Brinkley, 86 of Perry Twp. passed away unexpectedly at home. He was born in Massillon on July 19, 1928 to the late Charles A. and Viola (Young) Brinkley. Merle was a veteran of both the the Navy and the Army. He had retired from Grief-Board Company. He was a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, camping, fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated family man. Merle kept busy, by running a lawn mower blade sharpening business, so that he could met and be with people. He is survived by his daughters, Vicky (James L.) Kenny of Canton and Toni (Michael) Lint of Massillon; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Nora Dornhecker of Massillon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine A. Brinkley; step-daughter, Donna Mae Doxsee and three brothers, Ronald, Jim and Charles Brinkley. Dad we will miss and love you. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 1:30PM at the funeral home.
