Melvin J. Henthorne

Melvin J. Henthorne, age 73, of Massillon passed away on May 01, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on January 21, 1945 to the late Demming and Leola Henthorne. He married Beverly Ann Parr on September 12, 1964 and they shared over 53 years together. Melvin worked as a coal miner and oil rigger until his retirement. He enjoyed, boating, fishing, hunting, camping, bingo, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, Pap, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Beverly; his children Rodney (Carolyn) Henthorne, Melissa (Carrie Gadsion) Keller, Dorothy (Tammie Stanford) Neil and Katrina (Robert) Hall; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; his sisters Shirley (Roy) Mellott and Stella (David) Forshay; his lifelong friend Gunner and Janet Haslam as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his brothers Chuck, Allen, Erick, Demming and his sisters Marsella and Bessie. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Friday, May 04, 2018 at 8p.m. The family will receive friends from 5p.m. until the time of the service.
