Melvin E. Dennis

Mel E. Dennis, 62 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2019. Mel was born on March 15, 1956 in Massillon, the son of the Melvin L. and Joyce (Bennett) Dennis. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon, and a 1976 graduate of Perry High School. Mel owned and operated Mr. Mulch. He was known as a successful entrepreneur. Mel enjoyed bee keeping, being outdoors, adventuring on long road trips, and helping people in need. He was a faithful and loyal member of New Life Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda and Linda Dennis. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther (Achumi) Dennis whom he shared 14 years of marriage; parents, Melvin L. (Joyce) Dennis; his children and their spouses, Lori (Todd) Forrester, Justin (Macie) Dennis, Deidre (Matt) Scheetz; Marissa (Matt) Suttle, and Noah Dennis; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Jim and Bob Dennis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Mel’s life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3 p.m. at New Life Tabernacle: 3542 12th Street N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646. Private interment will follow at Massillon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Building Fund: New Life Tabernacle.
