Melba Haines

Melba Haines, age 90 of Massillon, died on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the home of her son, Larry Haines, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 16, 1920 in Caldwell, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Fred and Effie (Warfield) Orr. Melba was a 1939 graduate of Caldwell High School and had worked at Neisner Brothers and K-Mart, retiring following 40 years of service. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Haines in 1987, her brother Urban Orr, her sisters Alta Archer and Ethel Sickafoose and her brother Walton Orr. She is survived by her son Larry Haines, her daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Herbert Benson and Susan and Joseph Everett, 9 grandchildren, Bryan (Tara) Benson, Michael Benson, Michelle Martino, Larry H. (Kimberly) Haines, Inger (Haines) and Tim Ryder, Harry S. (Danielle) Haines, Jennifer L. (Everett) & Heath Manson, Carrie A. Everett and Rebecca S. Everett. Also surviving are 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, her brother, Charles (Lucille) Orr, her sister, Florence Wilson, her sister in law, Mary Orr and many special nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Saturday, July 24th at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1- 3 P.M. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Mt. Tabor Ridge Cemetery in Carlisle, Ohio at a later date.
