Maxine Lindsay

Maxine Lindsay, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 5, 2010. She was born on August 1, 1925 in Massillon, Ohio and was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. Maxine was the co-founder of Lindsay & Son Plumbing, Inc., a family owned business. She worked in the office for 50 years. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Massillon. She was a member of the Military Aircraft Preservation Society (M.A.P.S.) with their museum located at the Akron-Canton Airport. Maxine married Henry “Hank” Lindsay on June 30, 1945. They were recently honored by friends and family on their 65th wedding anniversary at their residence. She loved camping, boating, cruising and their many vacations in Florida each winter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; Herbert and Marjorie (Gordon) Fothergill and her brothers; Gordon and Don Fothergill. She is survived by her husband, Hank, her daughter Sandy (Gary) Montgomery of Circleville, OH, her son Fred (Debbie) Lindsay of Massillon; grandsons, Daniel Montgomery, Jeffrey Montgomery and Jed & Amanda Lindsay, granddaughters, Julie (Chris) Komarc, Jenny (Toby) Mathias and Lauren Lindsay, great grandchildren; Nathan and Morgan Lindsay and Grant and Linzie Mathias and her sisters, Leona (Mel) Wagner and Velma Thomas both of Massillon. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with her pastor, Chip Belanga officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE in Massillon and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
