Maurice Mauger

Maurice George Mauger, 83, of Perry Twp. passed away Thursday May 7, 2009 at Hanover House. He was born February 22, 1926 in Perry Twp. the son of the late Maurice A. and Hilda (Marburger) Mauger. Maurice was in building maintenance with East Ohio Gas for 26 years retiring in 1986. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Massillon. On February 11, 1949 he married Evelyn Ruth (Speicher) and she survives along with sons Jack Mauger of Massillon, Tom Mauger, and Daniel (Cathy) Mauger both of Perry Twp.; brothers Roger (Carolyn) Mauger, and William (Mary Jane) Mauger both of Navarre; sisters Hilda (Bill) Shepherd of N. Canton, and Carolyn Slicker of Massillon; grandchildren Amy (Kirk) Hixenbaugh, Kelly (Brock Carpenter) Mauger, and Becky Mauger; great-grandchild Corinne Hixenbaugh. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sons. Friends may call Monday from 6-9 P.M. at Arnold–Lynch Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Oster officiating. Graveside services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
