Maurice L. “Morrie” Brenner, Sr., age 82 of Jackson Township, passed away Sunday morning at Roselane Health Care Center. Maurice was born on June 9, 1924 in East Greenville to the late LaVerne and Katherine (Franz). He owned and operated Lehman’s Service Station on the corner of 18th and Cleveland Avenue in Canton for many years. He was a member of the McDonaldsville St. Paul United Methodist Church and a past member of the Friends of Corvair. Maurice enjoyed boating, fishing and playing cards. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Darlene Witherow. He is survived by his wife with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on August 6, 2006, Leona “Lee” M. Brenner; daughter, Becky (Paul) Barnett of Kimbolton, OH; son, Vern Brenner of Canton; brother, Glenn (Wanda) Brenner of Massillon; grandchildren, Jenny (Chris) Nottingham, Alexis Sams, April (Mark) Moore and Tim Barnett; great granddaughters, Jessica Moore and Lindsey Nottingham. Funeral services celebrating Morrie’s life will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the McDonaldsville St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Erwin Urschitz officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
