Mattie W. Longshore

Mattie W. Longshore, age 92 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Manor Care of Belden Village. Mattie was born on July 7, 1918 in Roanoke, AL. She lived in Massillon most of her life and owned her own housekeeping business. She was a charter member of Mount Calvary Baptist and a former member of Shiloh Baptist. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mattie M. Floyd, in 2007, her son, Joseph L. Longshore, in 2009 and her former husband, Arthur L. Longshore. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Ernest C. (Mary) Longshore of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Carlos A., Michael D. Longshore and Carolyn D. Longshore, Jeffrey C., Cheryl L, and Damon B. Floyd; great-grandchildren, Carla Longshore, Christopher Longshore, Jasmyn, Jordan and Jayson Floyd of Harrisburg, PA and son-in-law, Homer C. Floyd. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd, N.E., Massillon. Her pastor, Rev. Joseph H. Harkless of Mount Calvary Baptist will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
