Mary R. Schrock

MARY R. SCHROCK, 87, of East Canton, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 having experienced a memorable life of caring and giving. She was a life-long member of this community, a graduate of Middlebranch High School, a student at Goshen College, and a graduate of Malone College. Mary was a teacher for the Plain Local Schools, a homemaker and active in the business of the family farm. She enjoyed gardening and square dancing, was a talented seamstress and an avid quilter. She made beautiful handstitched greeting cards. She traveled with her husband and family to almost every corner of the United States and presented the dialogue for many slide shows they created. She was a member of Eden Church of the Brethren, secretary of the Navarre Village Manufactured Home Association, and member of several camera clubs. Mary had a loving connection with nature, wild flowers, moths and butterflies, birds and the wildlife that surrounded her. She was a life-long learner, an avid reader, personable, helpful, and always optimistic. Mother possessed an indefatigable spirit, and lived her life with quiet dignity. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Walter L. Schrock and an infant daughter, Elta Mary, her sister Annabel Linder and brothers, Harry Linder and Ralph Linder. Surviving are four children, Rachel McNett, Rebecca Gloss, Geraldine Linder and Walter Schrock, Jr., five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, Ohio on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
