Mary A. (Homze) Poth, age 77, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 19, 1933 to John and Mary (Granchi) Homze in Canton, OH and lived most of her life in the Massillon, OH area. She attended Central Catholic High School class of 1951. She graduated with a R.N. degree from Mercy Hospital class of 1955. Mary retired a nurse from the Timken Co. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; Massillon Women’s Club; Friends of Massillon Library, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim who passed away in 2009; parents John and Mary Homze; brothers Dr. Edward Homze of Nebraska, and James Homze of California. Mary is survived by son Jeff (Marie) Poth of Drums, PA; daughters Pamela (Bill) Boyd, and Jamie (Mark) Crowe both of Massillon; four grandchildren Rachelle (Andy) Kujawa, Mandi Poth, Danny and David Boyd; one great grandson Tyler Kujawa; sister-in-laws Sally (Jim) Smith of Massillon, Catharine Ferguson of Cuyahoga Falls, and Janie Homze of California; nieces and nephews from California, Nevada, and Colorado and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mary Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. The endless memories she created as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother will sustain us forever. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, August 20th at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday August 21st at 9:30 A.M. at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Bob Miller will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be given to Aultman Hospice.
