Mary A. Pearson, 94, of Canton, passed away February 20, 2025.
Mary was born in Akron, OH, on April 15, 1930 to the late James and Mary Gray. She grew up and was raised in Uniontown, OH. Mary was a very strong, independent woman who will be dearly missed. She lived a very active life, always reading and playing cards with friends. Mary retired in 1994 from Visiting Nurse Service as their bookkeeper. She later volunteered for the Salvation Army as a bookkeeper as well. As an Army wife, Mary and her family spent a lot of time moving around, having lived in Greece, Germany, Washington state, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Missouri and all over Ohio. Mary loved her baseball and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Krein; grandchildren James (Laura McAllister) Krein and Vincent Thomas; great grandchildren Edison and Brooks Krein; brother Allan Gray and sister-in-law Ethel Gray.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pearson; son Vincent Krein; brother Edwin Gray; sister-in-law Mary Gray.
Per Mary’s request, cremation has taken place. Her immediate family will lay her to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery (Akron, OH) at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Village of St. Edwards of Green, OH.
