Mary C. “Marcie” Waltz, age 67 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday March 15, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Massillon on December 9, 1954 to the late Richard C. and Patricia (Miller) Paul. She was a 1973 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and a 1977 graduate of Kent State University with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Marcie taught elementary school at Tuslaw Local School District and retired with 34 years of service. She was a volunteer and member of Stark County Master Gardeners, Massillon Women’s Club, Quota International Club, and a volunteer at St. Mary’s food pantry. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Massillon. She loved spending time in her flower gardens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Especially her grandchildren. She was a loving, compassionate, caring person. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mark Waltz, their children Kathryn (John) Chapman and Kenneth (Jordan) Waltz, and their grandchildren Charley and Griffin Waltz and Evie Chapman, brothers Rich (Chris Higgins) Paul, Tim (Jean) Paul, Todd (Susan) Paul, Bruce (Kim Bahr) Paul and her brother-in-law Tim (Candy) Waltz and sister-in-law Tracy (Barry Chapman) Waltz. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 21st from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. The Mass will be livestreamed on Tuesday at 11 a.m. for those that cannot attend by Clicking Here for Facebook Live Streaming Final resting place will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
