Mary Louise Rabbitt, age 84, passed away early Monday morning, October 5, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born December 5, 1924 to the late Dennis J. & Elsie (Barnhart) O’Donnell in Chicora, PA. Mary lived most of her life in Canal Fulton and Massillon. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband Jerry in his business. Mary was an avid bingo player and loved dancing, especially polkas. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the McKinley Eagles Auxiliary. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald L. Rabbitt (Dec. 9, 2007) with whom she shared 66 years of marriage, her eldest daughter, Patricia J. (Rabbitt) Beebe (July 30, 2007), three brothers and a sister. Mary is survived by a daughter and two sons: Cynthia l. Rogers of Massillon, Richard (Ruby) Rabbitt of North Lawrence and Jeffrey (Stacy) Rabbitt of Jackson Twp.; a sister in law Velma Graham of Erie, PA, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial gathering of friends and relatives will be Thursday from 6-7:30 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Fr. Paul will have a closing prayer at 7:30 PM. Mary and her children wanted to give thanks to all those people who were so caring and helpful including her bingo buddies and care givers who meant so much to her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name to either the Memorial Fund at St. Joseph Church or the Chapel Hill Community Alzheimer’s’ Unit would be greatly appreciated.
