Mary Laurene Meilinger

Mary Laurene (Boron) Meilinger, 86, of Massillon, passed away March 31, 2014. Mary was born on April 6, 1927 in Canton, the daughter of Walter and Alice (Kessler) Boron. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1945 graduate of St. John's in Canton. Mary was a cook at St. Joseph's School for 23 years and also for the Massillon City Schools for 10 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she helped in the soup kitchen and enjoyed playing bingo. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Meilinger in 1987, and her 2 brothers Ralph and Kenneth Boron. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Stephen G. (Patricia) Meilinger, Joseph R. (Kay) Meilinger, Jr., Thomas E. (Susan) Meilinger, and Michael J. (Paula) Meilinger; her grandchildren, Stephen (Meredith), Amanda , Victoria, Michael, Bradley, Nolan, Nicole, and Brent Meilinger; her great-grandsons, Preston and Andrew; her sister, Gerry Burns; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Meilinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Raymond Paul will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen.
